Impact

3

Personas mapped to real vocal training stages

1

Guided diagnostic replacing a quiz-style classification

Weeks

Progress measured over coaching cycles, not sessions

01 / The Challenge

A technical vocabulary that had to feel welcoming.

Living Opera needed a mobile companion for singers to identify their vocal type (Fach), structure practice and track technical progress.

The audience is small, passionate and highly informed — it would immediately spot a superficial understanding of the craft.

Fach identification flow

02 / Our Architecture

Personas grounded in actual vocal pedagogy.

Our team ran research with working singers and professional vocal coaches — not proxies — producing personas tied to real training stages rather than generic archetypes.

We structured Fach identification as a guided diagnostic, and built practice dashboards that model progress the way a coach measures it: over weeks, not individual sessions.

03 / Systems Outcome

Technically credible without reading like a training manual.

The shipped iOS app holds an approachable surface over a rigorous underlying structure.

A specialist audience notices that balance immediately when it's missing — and trusts the product when it's right.
